PROGRAM

*OPENING HYMN #64 “Holy, Holy, Holy” (all verses)

GREETING (Anthony Vaicels)
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Through your efforts, blessed Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we have been redeemed, created, and sanctified.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION #890 (Anthony Vaicels)
Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.  We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.  We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.  For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Amen.

LORD HAVE MERCY

OPENING PRAYER (Anthony Vaicels)

CHOIR ANTHEM

FIRST READING (Lorraine Gering)
Deut 4:32-34, 39-40
32 Ask now about the former days, long before your time, from the day God created human beings on the earth; ask from one end of the heavens to the other. Has anything so great as this ever happened, or has anything like it ever been heard of? 33 Has any other people heard the voice of God speaking out of fire, as you have, and lived? 34 Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, or by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?  39 Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other. 40 Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the LORD your God gives you for all time.

Reader:  The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

PSALTER (Lorraine Gering)
Psalm #767 (Psalm 33 – verses 1 to 12 only) (First response)

*GLORIA PATRI

SECOND READING (Lorraine Gering)
Roman 8:14-17
14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Reader:  The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

ALLELLUIA (Lorraine Gering)
Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; to God who is, who was, and who is to come.

GOSPEL (Dr. Charles)
Matt 28:16-20
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Reader:  The Gospel of the Lord.  Praise be to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

HYMN: #79: “Holy God, We Praise Thy Name” (verses 1 to 4 only)

SERMON  – Bernie Zablocki

APOSTLES’ CREED #881  (Anthony Vaicels)
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE (Anthony Vaicels)
